About - St. John's Jacobite Syrian Church

St.John's Jacobite Syrian Church Pindimana, which is also called "Thrikkunathu Mor Yoohanon Mamdhono Church" comes under effects of xenical Kothamangalam zone of Angamaly Diocese. This church always stood as a role model in discipline, worship, spiritual activities and cordial relationship with all other Christian community and other religions.

This Church near Chelad situates 5.5 kms north of Kothamangalam, 18 kms south of Edamalayar Dam and 5 kms south of Bhoothathankettu Dam. The Thattekkad 1 Bird Sanctuary is nearly 8 kms east of Chelad. The proposed atomic energy station site, Pooyamkutty, is 20 kms north-east of Chelad.

The Constitution

St.John's Jacobite Syrian Church was established in 1904. The constitution of the church was registered on 3rd December 1986 on Kothamangalam sub-registrar office and it amended on 24th February 2005.

Constituent Assembly

Managing committee includes the Vicar and 24 elected members of the parish. Committee last for the period of one year. Two trustees are elected from the 24 elected members.

Staff

As per the instruction of the committee an accountant, two sextons, peon and a sweeper work in church.

Bible Conventions

Bible conventions are conducted as a part of main feast from January 1 - 5. Thousands of people come to hear the convention speeches.

Parish Hall

There is a Parish hall in the church compound for conducting various church celebrations and celebrations like wedding, family meeting and so on.
