St. John's Youth Association, Pindimana

Youth association is the most leading organization among the various spiritual organizations under the Malankara Syrian Christian Church. The administrative expertise as well as moral support from the supreme spiritual leaders of the church led this organization to find its main accounts on devotional activities, education, service to the society, securing the belief and evangelical preaches.

The unit of this organization was started on August 9th, 1970 under the leadership of Rev. Father Geevarghese Mattamana. Then it was known as 'Youth League' and on August 8th, 1976 the organization was renamed as 'Youth Association' as per the instruction from Metropolitan of the parish, H.G. Thomas Mar Dionysius.

Overall activities of the organization till date - a review

For the last 40 years this organization is working for the material as well as spiritual growth and prosperity of the parish members. Being a charitable organization they are always on the front end to help the poor and needy by constructing houses, supply of clothes, supplying one month's food during the poverty season, giving pension to the old aged people, supply of lambs, supply of sewing machines, financial aids for marriages, distributing school uniforms and umbrellas to school children, personal visits to patient's home and providing medicines and other helps to them, visits to orphanages, old age homes and leprosy centers and providing food, clothes and medicines to the inhabitants etc. are some activities.

This organization also takes the responsibility to conduct free medical camps and free distribution of medicine to the camp attendants, blood detection camps and awareness programs to protect the health and to prevent diseases.

As a part of evangelical mission the organization is conducting conventions, prayer meetings, meditation camps, counseling and frequent home visits to pray for the depressed and mentally weak people and also started special prayer cell for them.

A garden is maintained very successfully for implanting herbal and Ayurvedic medicinal plants by the organization.

All the activities of the organization till date is successfully completed by the co-operation, dedication, sincere effort and financial aids by all the members, people belonging to the parish and all well wishers.
